This timeless bridal portrait was shot at Hillside Gardens in Colorado Springs, Colorado on a hot June day. It's one of my all time favorite photos of just a bride, I think it has something to do with her particular smile here and the way the light was reflecting off the ground onto her face. She was a no-fuss bride; got her wedding dress from a consignment shop, borrowed jewelry and made her own veil. One of the co-owners of the venue actually made her bouquet from flowers found at the gardens that morning. I remember that wedding day being the hottest day of the year! But it was still an absolutely beautiful day. Hillside is such a great venue, we always enjoy shooting there.
